JIN
There are several important characters
that are spoken 'jin', which have no graphic relationship to each other. 井 = jing(3) = well
(for water) is sound-determining in some, and so is 斤 = jin(1) = 500
gram.

今 = present
巾 = piece of cloth
斤 = a traditional weight, now 500 gram; vegetables, fruit, and
meat is typically quoted as in
斤 in China; thus, this remains an important character

紧 = tight, close (to each other)
不要紧 = bu(4) yao(4) jin(3) = it doesn't
matter
jin(4)
进 = to come in
近 = near
